Sony Ericsson Rachael / Xperia X3 – Has Sony finally got it?

Of late, Motorola Droid has got all the love in the blogosphere. Android has got a new found respect thanks to Motorola Droid. I’m sure everyone’s eagerly waiting for November 6th for Droid to be unleashed. But before that, there is another potential killer device being launched.

On November 3rd, Sony Ericsson will be trying to right all their wrongs with the all new Rachael / Xperia X3. The Xperia X1 had immense hype and it fell prey to its own hype and bombed. X2 was also not successful. It had great ideas but overall it wasn’t an exciting package.

Now, with the X3, Sony Ericsson have joined the Android bandwagon. Yes, the X3 runs on Android! But the similarites end there. They have completely ditched the minimalistic look of Android and have developed their own uber-cool interface.

There is no way to tell that it is actually Android powering the device. Take a look at a couple of videos to see what I mean.
