Google Chrome OS early build leaked!

by Srikanth on October 15, 2009

Earlier this week, an avid Googler stumbled upon Chrome OS folder on Google servers which was later blocked by Google. This created a lot of excitement and rumors started flying around everywhere.

Today, things got better! An early build of the Chrome OS Browser has been leaked which you can download right here or here and set it up on your linux box. (It should work on Debian or Ubuntu Linux)

If you are less adventurous then here we have some details for you.

Chrome OS Browser featured here contains clock, network connections manager, battery indicator all integrated in the title bar.

Take a look at these shots which suggest the themes will be an evolution of the GMail or iGoogle themes

In the top left corner there’s a new icon which may be some sort of Chrome ‘Start’ Button. This opens a Google Short Links window which doesn’t do much for the time being.
