It was only a question of when we will see a GSM version of the super cool Motorola Droid. The GSM variant will be called MILESTONE and will be arriving in Germany with O2 on November 9th. A page has already been put up on O2 Germany site.

Want to know something the ‘Droid doesn’t’ and the ‘Milestone does’ – pinch and zoom. Yes folks, multi-touch pinch and zoom is present on Milestone. Check out this video where you can clearly see the ‘pinch and zoom’ in action (around the 3 minute mark).
This may have something to do with Apple and the not-so-clear multi-touch patents as there is no limitation in either Droid’s hardware or software to support multi-touch.
Google Maps Navigation, which is a cool feature on Droid is something the Milestone won’t have! It gets Motorola Motonav instead. You get some, you lose some I suppose.
It will cost you €404.20 before taxes ($595) which we assume is the contract-free cost.
