by Rohit on November 29, 2009

We had reported earlier about iPhone users being plagued by worms such as iKee, iPhone/Privacy.A and iBotnet.A. After knowing how these worms had turned into mobile botnets, the jailbreak community pressed the panic button.

iPhone Explorer

Many users, understandably, are seeking for alternative ways of accessing iPhone files rather than relying on SSHing. We have good news for them! A new software called iPhone Explorer has been released which lets iPhone and iPod Touch users to access their device like a USB drive without SSHing. iPhone Explorer is available for both Windows and the Mac.

This software works on non-jailbroken devices as well! However, if you want to access the root directory, you will need to be on a jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch. Here are some of the features listed on their official website

  • 100% Free iPhone browser for Mac and Windows
  • 100% Drag-and-drop interface for easily copying files to and from your iPhone
  • Create, delete and rename files and folders on your iPhone or iPod Touch
  • Works with all iPhones and iPod Touches including the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G
  • Allows you to use your iPhone as a flash drive / pen drive or put your iPhone into disk mode
  • Tiny download size
  • (Optional) If you jailbreak your iPhone you can access the real root of your iPhone and recover your address book, SMS, e-mails and more.

Click on the download links below and use your iPhone as a pen drive without worrying about those nasty worms!
