Verizon getting ‘worldmode’ iPhone in Q3 2010?

by Srikanth on November 7, 2009

A new report suggests Apple will be bringing out a hybrid UMTS/CDMA iPhone in Q3 2010. This will solve the issue of manufacturing 2 separate devices catering to the CDMA and UMTS networks around the world. Hence, the tag ‘worldmode’ iPhone.

Another interesting titbit found in this report by OTS Global is that the new iPhone will have a smaller 2.8″ screen as compared to the current 3.2″ screen.

The report goes on to suggest that a deal between Apple and Verizon has already been struck and iPhone should make its debut on the Verizon network before end of next year ending exclusivity with AT&T.

We can only guess at this point how many of these will turn out to be true.
