Snow Leopard now available for pre-order!

by Rohit on August 24, 2009

Head over to the Apple store folks and you will find the much awaited Snow Leopard available for pre-order. If you are an Apple fanatic like me then you must have noticed that the Apple store was down on Monday morning.

Usually it’s frustrating when any online store which you frequently use is down. However with Apple, I get wildly excited the moment it’s store goes down since I know that once it is back up, I am in for some Apple goodies that I have been desperately waiting for.

On Monday morning, everyone felt that Snow Leopard was around the corner and Apple was generous enough to cut the anxiety with its official Press release: Apple to Ship Mac OS X Snow Leopard on August 28.

As a single user I have kept my $29 ready  for the purchase. If you have more than one Mac your best bet would be to go for a $49 family pack (Can be installed on max 5 Macs). If you are still wondering what the buzz is all about and have no clue about GCD, OpenCL, New dock and other feature’s of Snow leopard it’s high time that you checked this link out!

Can’t wait to lay my hands on this one :)

Woweee. While SL MAY have a FEW nice new features, it’s still pretty lame-o. if you wanna try a NEAR-PERFECT-TOTALLY-NEW-FEATURE-FILLED OS…..try Windows 7!!! Yea, it’s sick. I ran the beta, 12 in-between builds, and now have the full blown RTM/OEM copy all activated,a few months early, and never had a problem…ever. Even the mactards are installing Win 7 in boot camp….AND LOVING IT!

I have a Release candidate of Windows 7 installed on 2 of my mac machines. I totally agree that it’s by far the best windows ever. However, I wonder on what basis you are calling Snow Leopard lame. Let’s not forget that when windows users were having a nightmare called Vista, mac users were enjoying a stable and highly advanced OS in the form of leopard.

Snow Leopard may not have the eye candy that windows 7 has but all the development under the hood can easily make it the most powerful operating system.

That being said I use both the OS on a daily basis. Each one is terrific in its own way.

I agree Rohit, they are both very nice OSes. I was just being goofy, making fun of how SL is such “big news”. It’s just an update that most users won’t even really notice, while 7 is a totally new OS. Shit, I would run OSX on my Windows rig,and probably use it 40-50% of the time! Ha, I’ve even actually tried with iDanebs OSX mod! I guess I just hate the “snobby” attitudes that mactards, most mactards, usually have…but yea, very sophisticated OS!
