Rhapsody app for iPhone from RealNetworks!

by Rohit on August 24, 2009

(UPDATE: Rhapsody app has been approved! Here’s the iTunes link)

I feel the best way to explore new songs is by using Last.fm or Pandora music streaming service. I use them more like a test drive. Once I do like a song or an album, I purchase it straight off iTunes.  However Rhapsody from RealNetworks has got me thinking about other alternatives.

It’s fascinating to see that Rhapsody has a 7 million song library with an instant access anywhere, anytime (Ofcourse you need to be either on EDGE, 3G or ideally on Wi-Fi network). Moreover,  the entire catalog is yours for just $15/month!

The video demo of their new iPhone application has really tempted me to subscribe to their service. It’s not out yet but it has already been submitted to Apple for approval. Though this app is in competition to iTunes, Apple is most likely to approve it given the recent FCC interference. Those who have read my comic take on APPLE, AT&T and FCC issue would know what I am talking about :)
