Fring was the first Voip application I used on the iPhone. I remember how I stayed awake for 27 hrs straight just waiting for the app to release. I was wildly excited when I gave it a shot for the first time.

However, with time the interest faded away due to the poor voice quality. I later realized that it was because Fring used a workaround that required it to channel calls through a server and transcode audio, resulting in latency and poorer-quality calls. Thankfully, Skype for the iPhone released and gave an end to all the woes. Since that day, I swore by Skype and never looked back at Fring.
Now, fring has got a video magic up its sleeve that has again caught my attention. The entire iPhone community seems to be drooling over it. Fring reported the following on it’s official blog:
iPhone and iPod touch users can receive and make fring and Skype video calls entirely over Internet connection (for free!) and see the person on the other end. When a front camera is placed on these, we’ll have two-way video calls available here too just as we do on all the supported Nokia devices.
You can download Fring for iPhone with Video from here.
