Nintendo 64 Emulator for iPhone now available for download!

ZodTTD has finally released the new Nintendo 64 emulator called N64iPhone. It is available via ZodTTD repository on Cydia. Before you get all excited, the Nintendo 64 emulator uses ‘Open GLES 2.0 libraries’ so it works on just the iPhone 3GS and the new 3rd Generation iPod Touch.

N64iPhone

You can play the game by either using the onscreen tap buttons & accelerometer, or via a Bluetooth connection of Nintendo Wii’s “Wiimote control”. Apparently, the playback is a bit choppy on some games but overall it’s exceptionally good. You can purchase the full version of the emulator for $ 2.49.

Here are some of the features of the app:

  • High performance OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics renderer
  • Sound emulation.
  • Skinnable Controller overlays.
  • Fast dynarec CPU emulation.
  • Download to the ROMs directory within the app.
  • Supported ROMs – .n64 .z64
  • Supported Archives- .zip .7z

Time to catch Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario 64 in action on iPhone!

N64iPhone installation guide:

1) Tap on Rock

2) If it asks you permission to update. Click yes.

3) You will then be prompted to soft reboot your iPhone. Click OK.

4) Now on the front page of the Rock app you will find n64iPhone. Tap on it.
