Most of us love our iPhones and flaunt the amazing apps that we have on it. We wouldn’t give a darn about any other music player (especially if it were from Microsoft). However, wouldn’t you be amazed to see some geeky teen (visualize young Bill Gates) carrying a Zune HD and playing your favourite iPhone/iTouch game on it!
As an iPhone user, you may feel that playing such games is just your prerogative, but folks at Foundation42 think different. They have ported their upcoming iPhone App called WordMonger to Zune HD in just 12 hours! WordMonger is written in C# using OpenGL and it runs on both the iPhone with MonoTouch and on Zune HD with .NET. The Zune HD version is built using XNA Game Studio 3.1 which supports Zune HD extensions and Visual Studio 2008.
However, porting all the iPhone apps to ZuneHD isn’t that simple. This is what the Foundation42 had to say:
We wrote WordMonger in C#? and it made porting very easy. If we had to port other games it would take a lot longer! Porting other iPhone applications would be harder because they are mostly written in languages like Objective-C or C++. Would be nice though!
Here’s a video demo of WordMonger running on both iPhone and Zune HD!
