The iPhone Dev Team’s 3.1 firmware PwnageTool release ONLY for the MAC users has left Windows users high and dry. They are totally disappointed, furious and anxious. Obviously, being left out is not a good feeling and they are wondering when a jailbreak solution will be out for them.
Yes, there are blogs providing an alternative solution by asking Windows users to search the net for a custom 3.1 firmware. However, there is a catch; if Windows users download the wrong custom firmware they might end up updating their baseband.
The brave and the desperate one’s are going ahead and taking the risk, but the one’s who are more circumspect are waiting for the right risk-free solution to be out. If, you are one among those playing the waiting game; I have some good news for you.
iH8Sn0w has announced a new project called Sn0wbreeze which involves porting of the PwnageTool over to windows, so that the Windows users can create their own custom firmware and restore their iPhones using it in order to jailbreak their iPhone.
The best part is you need not wait for ages. Sn0wbreeze is expected to be released by October 12. I know it still feels like a lot of time but as they say ‘better late than never’!
