I had the same problem after installing ultrasn0w and unlocking my phone. But after uninstalling it, I received service again!

It’s been ages now, but I’m still having the exact same problem, so figure it’s worth a try. I’m on iPhone 3G with 5.11.0.7, updated to 4.0 and jailbroken with pwnage (without upgrading baseband), used ultrasn0w to unlock and also getting “searching” and then “no service” trying to run a t-mobile sim card.

I’m wondering if I should upgrade the baseband? Your reply would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Been trying to unlock my iPhone 3g too and getting the same issue of ‘searching..’ and have just seen that I’m on 05.11.07. This is like 6 months on now, surely there is a way to get around it now? Please? :)

any updates on when this new ultrasn0w or any solution to this service searching problem in firmware 3 1.2 with 5.11.07 baseband is coming ??? please let us know if there is any alternate solution !!!

@Sheeba I am afraid that there is nothing I can do to help as of now if you are on 05.11.07 modem (baseband) firmware. Just keep your fingers crossed and hope that the iPhone Dev Team releases an unlock tool soon. Will keep you updated.

I have updated my iPhone 3G to 3.1.2 firmware , my iphone is one 05.11.07 modem (baseband) firmware. How long it will take to get unlock this firmware 3.1 with 05.11.07 baseband modem firmware???????
