Don’t ever exceed your free calls limit on the iPhone!

If, like me, you are on your iPhone 24/7 then you must have surely wished for an option to check call usage. It is the unavailability of this simple feature which has got tons of iPhone users paying a bomb in the form of Cell Phone bills.

There are many apps trying to address this issue, but I personally like the new Call Counter 3 app available in Cydia. It’s easy to use and does exactly what it says. The best part about the app is that you can set filters based on Date, Call type and Person.

So, for example, if I want to know how many minutes I have used up in the month of September, all I need to do is set the Date filter to that month. On doing this, the app gives out the total call duration for the month of September. Isn’t that simple? Similarly, to know how many minutes I have spoken to a particular person within a given month; I just need to choose the contact name in the Person filter option.

The only downside is that it’s a paid app and comes with a 11 day trial period.  If you like the app, you can purchase it for $2.99 using a paypal account.

NOTE: This is particularly handy for those users who have unlocked their iPhone and are on a different carrier. AT&T usage can of course be determined using AT&T’s official app.

Here are the steps to install this app:

  • On your jailbroken iPhone, tap on cydia.
  • Select search at the bottom of cydia and in the search box look for Call Counter 3.
  • Install the app.
