How to change (rename) iPhone app names?

by Rohit on May 19, 2010

Have you ever had the urge to rename apps on your iPhone? One would feel it’s a straightforward process but strangely there is no such feature available by default.

rename iPhone apps

Now, thanks to an app called Rename II you can change the name of any app regardless of whether you have got it off AppStore or Cydia.

Here are the steps to install Rename II to change iPhone app names:

1) Tap on Cydia.

2) Choose Manage tab at the bottom of the screen.

3) Select Sources.

4) On the top-right corner you will find edit button, select that and then tap add button. You will be asked to enter a url. Enter http://cy.sosiphone.com/ and tap on add sources. (This will add the SOSiPhone source)

5) Now search for Rename II.

6) Congrats, you can now rename your iPhone apps.
