Yeah you heard me right! Pzizz sleep app really helps get rid of the insomniac in you. Pzizz works on the principle of guided sleep soundtracks and relaxation techniques.

An important thing to note though is that instead of playing the same set of tracks repeatedly, it creates a brand new soothing soundtrack everytime you hit the play button.

On hearing about the app; I initially felt that it was made by some newbie developer trying to make quick bucks by taking the insomniacs on a ride. However, with some quick study I found that the app on many occasions had topped the AppStore under medical category in several countries!

It’s made by Pzizz, a reputed company, which has received excellent reviews from the likes of Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph, Health and Fitness etc.

This morning, I was surprised to see an app called iVideoCamera on the AppStore which claimed to record video on any iPhone! I gave it a spin on my iPhone 3G and it worked flawlessly.

I played around with it for a while and just when I thought that I had found a descent replacement to Cycorder, the app stopped recording abruptly. Apparently, it has a recording limit of 60 seconds which in my opinion sucks. Other limitations are the low resolution(160×213) and poor frame rate (3 frames/sec).

However, the social aspect is well integrated into the app with video sharing support via Youtube, FaceBook, Twitter and Vimeo. Check out the video demo below and just in case you like the app, head over to the App store and make it yours for $0.99.

Note: Cycorder has a better frame rate(6-15 frames/sec) and resolution(384×288). It’s always worth jailbreaking your iPhone :)

EA Mobile dropped in a teaser for the iPhone installment of their popular franchise – Rock Band.

Rock Band already has its presence on all the consoles out there – PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii and XBox360. So, it was quite natural for them to put to good use the iPhone hardware and create a must have Music Game for fans of the genre.

The iPhone version of Rock Band will feature 20 tracks from various bands, including Foo Fighters, Jethro Tull, 30 Seconds To Mars and Lynard Skynard with downloadable songs available later.

It has 4 modes – Bass, Guitar, Drums and Vocals. Apart from single player and online play it also supports up to 4 players simultaneously via bluetooth.

You will soon be hearing from us about the price and release date once its made availabe by Harmonix.

IM+ 3.4 has finally released and whoa boy are we loving it! Tweeting on the iPhone will never be the same again thanks to the speech recognition feature. It’s brilliant at adapting to different accents and a real pleasure to use while driving. Another cool feature is the ‘animated emoticons’.

You can just speak out your messages on different messaging and social networking services like Twitter,Facebook, Google Talk, Skype, ICQ, AOL IM, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live, etc.

Tweetie is by far the best Twitter app out there. It’s a remarkable effort by Atebits to improve upon an already wonderful app. One must hand it to them for making it even more better by adding loads of features and yet not compromising on ease of use, which made Tweetie such a joy to use in the first place.

We had covered earlier about the amazing features the new version comes packed with, which justifies the $2.99 price you have to pay. Some argue that it should be free upgrade from Tweetie, while most agree that it is really a small price to pay for something so indispensable.

Here are some of the features:

CNN just launched CNN Mobile app for the iPhone which puts any other single-source news app to shame..really!

It brings in a multitude of features like video on demand (VOD), live streaming video, offline mode, location specific news, weather, traffic updates and many more.

This overdose of features are never in-your-face and the interface is always intuitive and easy to use. For example, when the iPhone is in landscape mode the headlines are presented in CoverFlow style, which is a very unique way to quickly glance through all the latest news.

In My CNN you can ‘follow’ interesting news and you will also receive latest updates via push. Another nifty feature is to save the content to view it later offline. Of course, social media sharing is integrated in the app so that you can share it on Twitter, Facebook, SMS, email instantly.

The best feature of this app is undoubtedly video. You get video on demand of recent newscasts to choose from a catalog. Live video streaming is also available over Wi-Fi or 3G/Edge. (You are notified about this by a “Hey, CNN’s live right now,” push message).

A feature which CNN is highlighting more than the others is the iReport which lets you report on events happening around you by uploading stories, photos, videos directly from your iPhone.

This is a complete news package which any news junkie would love. However, this comes at a price, $2 to be precise. You might be interested to know that despite being a paid app it has un-intrusive ads. Some say it should either be free with ads or it should be paid and ad free, while others are suggesting its not a big deal and $2 with ads is still a good price for this app. We will let you decide.

If you are still on good terms with your ex-girlfriend(s) and don’t want her(them) to fall for some insufferable maniac then perhaps the Date Check app can help.

I personally found the whole concept to be a bit hilarious. But on a second thought, it can save some girls from digging their own grave. Infact it’s a funny and useful app which you can recommend to anyone who is single.

My big question to the app developer is what if someone ditches their new found love only on the basis of the info from this new app and it all turns out to be false?  That would be quite a scene. Isn’t it?
