All new iMac, MacBook, Mac Mini, Magic Mouse arrive on expected lines

The rumours were bang on about the new product line up from Apple! The revamped unibody plastic MacBook, Full-HD capable iMac, the multi-touch equipped Magic Mouse, revitalised Mac Mini – all go on sale today. Yes, today!

iMac: The iMac line has been upgraded and now comes with 16:9 aspect ratio screen on all models.  The 21.5″ screen supports a resoultion of 1920 x 1080 while the 27″ model renders at a whopping 2560 x 1440. Both screens have LED Back-lighting.

It comes with wireless keyboard and the all-new Magic mouse as standard equipment. They also boast a SD slot apart from the regular array of ports. It does NOT have the Blu-ray drive as rumoured.

The top of the line $1,999 model comes with a 2.66GHz Quad Core (Core i5) unit, but it doesn’t ship until November.

MacBook: The unibody plastic MacBook has arrived at a familiar price of $999. For this you get 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB of RAM (upgradable to 4GB), an NVIDIA 9400M GPU, 250GB hard drive, LED back-lit display, new glass multi-touch trackpad, and a 7 hour battery life.

Mac Mini: The specs have been upped for the Mac Mini and for $599 you get 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM and 160GB HDD. For $999 you get 2.53GHz, dual 500 GB HDD, 4GB RAM and Mac OS X Server Snow Leopard. However, theres no Mini Display Port as suggested earlier.

Magic Mouse: Apple has reinvented the mouse yet again with the Magic Mouse. They have completely thrown away the scroll ball and instead features a multi touch surface (hard acrylic). It has a single button and two finger swipe gestures akin to the MacBook’s trackpad. It also has single finger scroll but no pinch zoom as one might have expected. It’s wireless and Apple promises a 4 month battery life.
